SLIIT has a dedicated Campus Safety and Security Unit (CSSU) that monitors the campus 24/7 with security personnel, CCTV surveillance, and controlled access points. We also conduct regular safety drills and provide emergency response support.
We have a 24/7 emergency response team, first aid stations, and medical officer, ambulance for any health-related emergencies. Fire safety measures and evacuation plans are in place in case of an incident.
All visitors must have prior approval from a staff member via email, except for those visiting for student inquiries. Service providers and contractors require pre-authorization through their respective supervisors.
SLIIT follows strict fire safety protocols, including designated evacuation routes, fire extinguisher placements, and periodic fire drills, nominated fire wardens. Lab safety includes PPE requirements, chemical handling guidelines, and emergency response training for lab users.
Students can stay on campus until 10:30 PM, but after dark, they are advised to remain in common study areas. Overnight stays for study purposes require approval from a senior academic staff member.
Lost items can be reported to the security office. If found, they will be logged and stored safely until the rightful owner claims them.
