This research project by the SLIIT Faculty of Engineering focuses on the development of a lightwave underwater network for monitoring microplastic pollution. Funded by COFAC/Prêmio D'Alecrim LDA, Portugal, the study aims to design an efficient, high-speed communication system to collect and transmit real-time data from aquatic environments. The project supports advanced environmental monitoring efforts, enabling accurate detection and tracking of microplastics to aid in marine conservation and pollution mitigation strategies.
