Professor Lalith Gamage, a figure of global academic influence, played a pivotal role in establishing the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) in 1999 as its chief architect. He currently holds the esteemed positions of Vice Chancellor and CEO. His influence extends beyond national borders, as he serves as an Affiliate Professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Prof. Gamage’s academic journey includes a degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa and a PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

In recognition of his academic leadership, Professor Gamage was honoured with The Outstanding Young Person of the Year (TOYP) award in 2000. His exceptional contributions to the ICT sector were further acknowledged in 2020 when he was awarded the Most Outstanding ICT Contributor of the Year at the National ICT Awards (NBQSA).

Prof. Lakshman Ratnayake is the Chancellor and Chairman of SLIIT. Prior to this role, he served as Dean and Senior Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. Before joining SLIIT, he was honoured as an Emeritus Professor by the same institution.

Prof. Ratnayake's leadership in the field of engineering is a testament to his dedication and influence. He has served as Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and was President of both the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). His academic positions at the University of Calgary, Canada, and Utah State University, USA, further demonstrate his commitment to the field.

His expertise has led to appointments on several prestigious boards, including the National Transport Commission, National Research Council (NRC), National Science Foundation (NSF), University of Colombo Council, and the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM) Board

Prof. Nimal Rajapakse joined SLIIT in 2019 after serving at four Canadian research universities for over thirty years. He is currently the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of SLIIT.

An Emeritus Professor at Simon Fraser University, Canada and Honorary Professor at IIT Guwahati, Prof. Rajapakse previously held leadership roles at Carleton University, Simon Fraser University, the University of Manitoba and the University of British Columbia.

Prof. Rajapakse has been ranked among the top 100,000 researchers worldwide across all disciplines by the Elsevier-Stanford Ranking. According to this ranking, he is currently the highest-ranked researcher employed by Sri Lankan universities and higher educational institutes.

Prof. Saman Halgamuge is currently a Visiting Professor, SLIIT, and is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering, The University of Melbourne. He was appointed as a visiting professor of the University of Peradeniya, NIFS, and the University of Colombo.

He is listed as a top 2% most cited researcher for AI and Image Processing in the Stanford database. He is a distinguished Visitor of IEEE Computer Society (2024-26) and was a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (2018-21). He supervised 50 PhD students and 16 postdocs on AI and applications in Australia to completion.

Prof Saman Halgamuge, Fellow of IEEE, IET, AAIA and NASSL received the B.Sc. Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and the Dipl.-Ing and Ph.D. degrees in data engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. His research grants include Australian Research Council grants, Biomedical research grants from NHMRC, US DoD and various Foundations on Dementia and MND and industry including Google US and Bosch Germany.

Prof. Rahula Attalage currently serves as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at SLIIT. He brings extensive academic and administrative experience, having served in a range of senior roles at the University of Moratuwa. These include Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor and Professor in Mechanical Engineering, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Director of Postgraduate Studies in the Faculty of Engineering.

In addition to his academic leadership, Prof. Attalage has contributed to national development initiatives through roles such as Director of the Local and Operational Technical Secretariats for World Bank-funded IRQUE and HETC projects under the Ministry of Higher Education. He has also served as Chairman of the National Institute of Fisheries and Nautical Engineering and as Commissioner of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.

He has held visiting academic appointments at the Toyohashi University of Technology in Japan and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

Prof. Attalage holds a PhD and a DEA in Energy Engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris, France, a Master of Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa.

Samantha Thelijjagoda is a senior professor in Information Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Computing and currently serving as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research & International) at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). He joined SLIIT in 2007 and held positions including Dean, SLIIT Business School, Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, Head, Department of Information Systems Engineering, Head, Department of Information Management, Postgraduate Course Coordinator at SLIIT and Course Leader for Enterprise Applications Development program of Sheffield Hallam University, UK.

He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems Engineering from Gifu University, Japan. And earned an M.Eng. in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the same university. He received his first degree in Statistics (Special) with First Class Honours from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.

He is an active member of Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) and also a member of the Institute of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE), USA. He is the country representative of Technical Committee 8 (TC-8: Information Systems) of International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP). He is also an accredited skills assessor for Skills Certifications of IT professionals in Sri Lanka which is done by Australian Computer Society (ACS). His research interests are Computational models of human language processing (NLP), Human language technology (HLT) such as Machine Translations, Information Extraction etc. and Digital linguistics (Corpus Linguistics) which are associated with the area of Computational Linguistics.

Prof. Nuwan Kodagoda is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Computing) at SLIIT. He has held a number of academic and leadership roles within the institution, contributing significantly to the development of computing education. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Dean and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Computing and has held multiple headship positions, including Head of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Software Engineering, and Information Technology.

He has also played a key role in academic governance, serving as Chairman of the Curriculum and Academic Quality Committee. With a longstanding affiliation to SLIIT, Prof. Kodagoda has contributed as an academic in various capacities including Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and currently as Assistant Professor.

Prof. Kodagoda holds a PhD from Sheffield Hallam University, an MPhil from the University of Moratuwa, and a BSc Engineering (Hons) degree also from the University of Moratuwa. His academic experience spans over two decades, underpinned by a consistent commitment to teaching, curriculum development, and institutional advancement in the field of computing

Dr. Gobithas Tharmarajah is an academic, researcher, and structural engineering consultant with a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Queen's University Belfast, UK. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), and as Dean Academic/CEO of SLIIT Northern Uni. His expertise includes sustainable construction materials, advanced composites, and innovative structural solutions with a strong focus on eco-friendly technologies. Dr. Tharmarajah has supervised over 80 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and secured prestigious research grants, including those from the National Research Council (NRC) and SLIIT.

His research has led to the development of sustainable building materials, such as rice husk-based cement blocks and natural fiber-reinforced concrete, promoting environmentally friendly construction practices. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and contributed 4 book chapters. In the industry, he served as Chief Technology Officer at MVIVO (Pvt) Ltd., leading the design and implementation of prefabricated and modular cold-formed steel residential buildings. As a postdoctoral researcher at Athlone Institute of Technology, Ireland, he optimized underground reinforced concrete structures using Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bars, reducing costs by 15–25% while enhancing durability. His consultancy portfolio includes seismic load design for the Bandaranaike International Airport and structural integrity assessments for commercial buildings.

Dr. Madhawa Herath is an experienced education professional with a diverse academic background and over 20 years of progressive experience spanning telecommunications, project management, academia, and entrepreneurship. He earned his BSc Eng. (Hons) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with First-Class Honors from the University of Moratuwa, an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and a PhD from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. He is a Chartered Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) accredited by the Project Management Institute, USA.

Dr. Herath began his career in 2006 in the telecommunications industry, holding senior roles in local and multinational companies, including international assignments. In 2012, he transitioned to academia, initially as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering. He then served as Head of Academics at SLIIT Kandy UNI and now holds the position of Dean – Academic. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence in Energy Consumption Optimization, Synthetic Data Generation, and Climate Change Analysis. He has published extensively and presented at numerous international conferences. Actively engaged in professional organizations, he is a Council Member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), contributes to key IESL committees, and previously served as Assistant Vice President – Branding at the PMI Colombo Chapter. He currently chairs the IT and Computer Engineering Sectional Committee of IESL

Professor Lalith De Silva is a leading academic and practitioner in the field of architecture and built environment, with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. Currently, Professor De Silva serves as the Head and Professor of the School of Architecture at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). 
He holds a Master of Construction Management from James Cook University, Australia, and began his professional journey at Development Consultants, a modernist architectural firm of historical significance in Colombo. He spent his formative academic years at the University of Moratuwa, where he later became a long-serving professor in the Department of Building Economics.

He is also the Chair of RIBA Members Sri Lanka, and Founding Director of Habitat Chartered Architects & Engineers, established in 1985. He continues to be affiliated with the University of Moratuwa as Emeritus Professor, having served from 1990 to 2020. His previous leadership roles include Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Moratuwa (2014–2019), Head of the Department of Building Economics (2000–2005), and Acting Chancellor of the University (2016). He was President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (2003–2005) and Vice President of the Organization of Professional Associations (2007–2008).

Professor De Silva’s work reflects a deep commitment to urbanization and public-oriented architecture. His efforts have significantly influenced architectural education and professional practice in Sri Lanka, advocating for the integration of design with broader societal needs. Through teaching, institutional leadership, and professional contributions, he remains a key figure in shaping the next generation of architects and the architectural landscape of the country.

Prof. Colin N. Peiris currently serves as the Dean of Academic Development and Quality Assurance at SLIIT. He is an Emeritus Professor of the University of Peradeniya, with a distinguished academic career spanning over four decades. During his 35 years at the University of Peradeniya, he held several key positions, including Senior Professor, Head of Department, Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, and Chairman of the Teaching Methodology Unit.

He holds a PhD and MSc from Pennsylvania State University, along with a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya. He has also received advanced training in quality assurance and university teaching methodologies from leading institutions in the UK and France. In recognition of his significant national and international contributions to quality assurance in higher education, Sabaragamuwa University awarded him a Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa).

Prof. Peiris has played a leading role in advancing quality assurance in higher education in Sri Lanka. He served as founding Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council (UGC) and was the founding Vice-Chancellor of Horizon Campus. He was invited to the Board of Directors of Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) also served in the Board of Directors of International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), and his current positions held in the quality assurance include council membership at the Asia Pacific Quality Register Council (APQR), receiving several awards for excellence in quality assurance. He continues to serve as a Consultant and Leader in academic quality enhancement locally and globally.

Prof Suren Peter is a professor and he is the Dean of the SLIIT Business School, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Malabe, Sri Lanka.

Prior to joining SLIIT, he was attached to the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya, having commenced his academic career in 1993. He served two stints as Head, Department of Industrial Management in 2001 and in 2019, served as the Postgraduate Course Coordinator for the Masters programme, Programme Reviewer for Quality Assurance Accreditation Council of the UGC, Conference Chair of the inaugural SCSE international conference, Chief Editor, Editorial Board member and reviewer for international and local journals and conferences. He has served and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of a number of private corporates and Chairs a number of sub committees as well. He has served as a consultant with UNIDO/UNDP and for several local corporates and government bodies. He holds IEEE membership and is certified by the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors.

His research interests are in capital markets, corporate finance, behavioral finance, Privatization and corporate restructuring, portfolio management and learning.

Dr. Malitha Wijesundara currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Sciences at SLIIT. He has held several senior academic and administrative roles within the institution, including Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, and Dean of Education and Student Experience. He has also served as Head of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and Head of IT Services.

With a multidisciplinary background, Dr. Wijesundara brings experience in both academic leadership and technical domains. His contributions span across computing, engineering, education, and institutional development. He holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore (NUS), a BEng (Hons) from the University of Warwick, and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Prof. Ayantha Gomes serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at SLIIT. He is a Chartered Engineer and an academic with expertise in civil and environmental engineering. His areas of specialisation include urban ecosystems, hydrology, urban waterways, headwater streams, environmental impact assessment, and waste management. He also has a research interest in real estate economics, with a focus on condominium apartments.

Prof. Gomes has gained professional and academic experience in Sri Lanka, Japan, and the Hong Kong SAR. His contributions to scientific research have been recognised nationally and internationally, including receiving a Presidential Award for scientific publications.

He holds a PhD from Saitama University in Japan, an MSc from the University of Moratuwa, and a BSc Engineering (Hons) degree, also from the University of Moratuwa.

Prof. Pradeep Kumara Wijesekara Abeygunawardhana is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Computer Systems Engineering, currently serving as a professor at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). With a robust educational background, he holds a Ph.D. in Robotics Engineering (2010) and an M.Sc. in Engineering (2006) from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (2003) from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Prof. Abeygunawardhana’s professional journey encompasses a blend of academic and industry experiences. He is the Director of Technology Diffusion at the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka, and a professor at SLIIT. Previously, he was the Head of the Computer Systems Engineering Department at SLIIT and a Senior Lecturer, contributing significantly to the institution's academic and research output.

His research interests lie in robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), electronics, and artificial intelligence (AI). Prof. Abeygunawardhana has published extensively in high-impact journals and conferences, showcasing his work on intelligent systems and automation. His scholarly contributions are well-recognized, with a substantial citation record on Google Scholar.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Abeygunawardhana has played a pivotal role in organizing national and international conferences and competitions, including the National Robotic Competition (Robofest) and the National Coding Competition (Codefest). He has also been actively involved in reviewing for prestigious journals and conferences, further cementing his influence in the field.

Prof. Abeygunawardhana is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the IET, the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), and Toastmasters International. His excellence in communication and leadership is underscored by awards from Toastmasters International.

His career is marked by numerous accolades, including the Japanese government Monbukagakusho scholarship and multiple research grants from Keio University. His dedication to teaching, project management, and research innovation continues to inspire students and peers alike in the global academic community

Professor Lakshman Ratnayake is the Chancellor and Chairman of SLIIT, bringing over 45 years of experience in higher education and engineering. Prior to this role, he served as Chairman and Senior Professor of Civil Engineering from April 2014. Before joining SLIIT, he held several key positions at the University of Moratuwa, including Senior Professor, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering (1989-1994), and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (1995-2001). Throughout his academic career, Prof. Ratnayake also held professorial positions at the University of Calgary, Canada, and Utah State University, USA, during his sabbaticals. He was honored as an Emeritus Professor by the University of Moratuwa in 2014.

He served as Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from 2001 to 2006 and held the presidency of both the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) in 2002 and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in 2004. He also led two World Bank-funded higher education projects from 2004 to 2014.

Uditha Gamage is an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering graduate from the University of Moratuwa and holds an MBA in Information Technology from the same institution. With over 21 years of experience in IT Services Management, Marketing, and Student Services, he has specialized in computer networking, cyber security, and student enrollment. A Cisco Certified Instructor Trainer and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Uditha began his career as a Systems Engineer at the Computing Services Division at SLIIT.

He has since held several senior roles including Head of IT Services, Head of Marketing, Director of Development and Engineering Services, and Director of Student Services and Outreach. He currently serves as the Chief Student Services and Outreach Officer at SLIIT.

Niraj serves as the Chief Financial and Commercial Officer of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), leading the financial strategy and operations across the organization. His responsibilities encompass financial planning, business performance management, investment appraisals, treasury operations, financial governance, and reporting. In addition, he is responsible for the administrative and financial operations of all SLIIT centers and campuses. Furthermore, he overlooks the International marketing of SLIIT.

Before joining SLIIT, Niraj served as the Chief Financial Officer at Novo Cinemas and Gulf Films, the largest cinema chain and movie distributor in the Middle East. Prior to that, he built a strong foundation in investment banking, holding positions at esteemed firms such as The First Investor and Ernst & Young (Middle East). With over 20 years of experience, he brings deep expertise in financial strategy, corporate advisory, and investment banking.

Niraj is a CFA Charter holder of CFA Institute (USA) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). He holds a Master’s in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo, along with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the same institution. Additionally, he has successfully completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) program and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).

Chaminda Lewke Bandara, the Chief Operating Officer at SLIIT, is a distinguished IT leader whose career spans more than 25 years, marked by exceptional contributions across the technology, higher education, and corporate sectors. With nearly two decades in senior leadership roles, he has built a reputation for driving digital innovation, strengthening operational frameworks, and guiding organizations through complex technological transformations. Throughout his career, Mr. Lewke Bandara has worked with multinational business conglomerates and leading institutions across Sri Lanka, the Middle East, and the United States.

Mr. Lewke Bandara holds an MBA in Information Technology and a First Class Honors BSc Eng. (Hons) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, where his exceptional academic performance earned him the prestigious Best Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Award. In addition to his academic credentials, he has accumulated numerous globally recognized professional certifications reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and mastery of evolving technologies.

Over the years, he has successfully led multiple large‑scale initiatives such as SAP implementations, cloud adoption programs, virtualization strategies, and organization‑wide cybersecurity enhancements. Within the academic sector, Mr. Bandara has been instrumental in modernizing education technology systems and strengthening institutional administration. His contributions have supported the expansion of academic operations, improved student and faculty experiences, and enabled the adoption of integrated, future‑ready IT solutions.

Driven by a passion for digital transformation and technological excellence, Mr. Lewke Bandara continues to shape impactful initiatives that enhance governance, sustainability, and productivity across both corporate and academic landscapes. 

Chanaka D. Kalansuriya is the Senior Director – Administration at SLIIT, overseeing finance, supply chain, and organizational management functions. With extensive experience in administration, operational efficiency, policy implementation, and strategic planning, he brings a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance and institutional management. His career spans senior roles at DFCC Bank and IBM, where he contributed to operational excellence and business development. He also gained valuable insights into financial management and corporate strategy during his tenure at Ernst & Young.

At SLIIT, he has played a key role in enhancing administrative functions, streamlining procurement, and introducing initiatives that improve institutional performance and long-term sustainability. His leadership extends across human resources, marketing, and corporate policy development. Chanaka holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers (FIPFM), reflecting his commitment to continuous professional growth and excellence in administration.

Major General (Retd) Priyantha Senaratne enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army on 4th August 1986 and was commissioned into the elite Commando Regiment. He retired as a Major General on 12th November 2020, concluding over 34 years of distinguished service. His military career included key command, operational, training, and staff roles, such as General Officer Commanding of the 53 Division, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy, and several directorial positions at Army Headquarters. He was a pivotal figure in counterterrorism operations and also served in the United Nations Mission in Haiti as Deputy Chief of Civil-Military Coordination.

Major General Senaratne is a decorated officer, having received the Rana Sura Padakkama gallantry award on four occasions and the Desha Puthra Sammanaya, among a total of 15 military decorations. He holds an MSc in Disaster Analysis, Management and Mitigation from the University of Colombo, and a PGD in Senior Level Defence Management from the University of Indore, India. He has also received international military training, including at the U.S. Army Infantry School. An accomplished skydiver, he led the Army’s Parachuting and Kayaking Committees. He is also a proud alumnus of St. Joseph Vaz College, becoming its first Major General.

Suran Fernando serves as the Director of Facilities Management at SLIIT, overseeing the institute’s facilities management operations and infrastructure development projects. With over 23 years of industry experience, he has played a pivotal role in engineering design, building maintenance, project management, and facilities management across multiple sectors.
He holds a BSc (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa (2002) and is a Chartered Engineer specializing in Building Services Engineering. He is also a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL). He was also awarded Green Associate Professional status in 2015 by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka (GBCSL).
Before joining SLIIT, Suran gained extensive industry experience working with leading organizations such as Jinasena Engineering Technologies, Merbok MDF Lanka, and IFS R&D International.

Beyond his professional career, Suran has been actively involved with the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), the apex professional body for engineering in Sri Lanka, serving as a Council Member since 2018. He currently holds the position of Honorary Secretary of IESL and previously chaired the Building Services Engineering Sectional Committee (BSESC) during the 2018–2019 sessions. Additionally, he serves as the Editor of the IESL Digital Newsletter (SLEN).
Since 2022, Suran has been a Council Member of the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL), the national body responsible for maintaining professional standards and ethics across all categories of engineering practitioners. He also contributes as a Forum Member of the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA), furthering his dedication to the advancement of the profession.

With a strong passion for engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainable development, Suran continues to make a lasting impact on the industry, ensuring the growth, efficiency, and modernization of infrastructure and facilities at SLIIT.

Asangi Jayasinghe is a distinguished professional with over 27 years of experience in business development, marketing, public relations, media, event management, and research. With over two decades in leadership positions, she has driven strategic initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and institutional growth.

Currently serving as the Director of Research Enterprise & International Relations at SLIIT, Asangi plays a key role in fostering academic collaborations, driving research initiatives, and strengthening global partnerships. From 2009 to 2015, she headed SLIIT’s Business Development Division, leading corporate communications, business development, marketing, public relations and event management, significantly enhancing institutional visibility and global engagement. She also initiated above-the-line advertising campaigns for SLIIT and its partner universities, reinforcing their brand presence in the education sector. Additionally, she played a key role in launching international student enrollment at SLIIT, expanding its global reach.

Asangi is the creator and producer of Brain Busters with SLIIT, the university’s first-ever TV quiz program launched in 2018. The program has inspired and educated over 20,000 school students across Sri Lanka, fostering leadership, critical thinking, and knowledge development.

Asangi has previously worked in the UK, USA-based organizations, and leading corporates in Sri Lanka, gaining valuable insights into global corporate communications, business development, finance, and institutional partnerships. Her ability to build and nurture international networks has significantly enhanced institutional outreach and visibility.

A distinguished Rotarian, Asangi serves as a Board Member and Director Administration of her club. A Paul Harris Fellow, she was recognized as the Best Director of Youth Services for Sri Lanka and the Maldives (2021/22) for her exceptional contributions to youth leadership and community development locally and globally. Asangi is the former Vice President of the Shakespeare Centre Sri Lanka and a life member of the Institute of Sinhala Culture, actively promoting literary and cultural initiatives among Sri Lankan youth. She is also a member and convener of SLIIT Institutional Research Board & SLIIT Ethics Review Committee. She is a proud alumna of Musaeus College, Colombo and Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership as an outstanding student.

Roshani Madarasinghe is the Director of Marketing at SLIIT, with over 17 years of extensive experience spanning the Education and IT sectors. She holds a Business Degree from Staffordshire University with a specialization in Project Management and holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Bedfordshire, UK.

Roshani has a proven track record in strategic marketing, brand development, and student recruitment, with a strong focus on building institutional visibility and stakeholder engagement. Her deep insights into both local and international education landscapes have contributed significantly to SLIIT’s continued growth and recognition.

In addition to her role at SLIIT, Roshani has also contributed to the broader communications field as a former Executive Committee Member of the Public Relations Association of Sri Lanka (PRASL), reflecting her commitment to advancing public relations and professional excellence in the industry.

Roshani is passionate about continuous learning and staying ahead of industry trends to further improve student engagement and accessibility in higher education.

Ranmini Unantenne is the Director - Academic Affairs and Student Services at SLIIT Malabe Campus. She oversees a wide array of functions including student services, academic affairs, sports, career guidance, and counseling.

A graduate of the University of Peradeniya’s Faculty of Arts, she also holds a Master of Science degree from the same university. Ranmini brings over 15 years of professional experience, having served in the software services, water and sanitation development, and higher education sectors. She joined SLIIT in 2016 as Manager – Career Guidance, gradually expanding her portfolio through demonstrated leadership and a student-centered approach. 

Hemantha Muthukumarana is the Director of Administration at the Faculty of Computing, where his leadership has been pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of non-academic and support services. With over 25 years of experience at SLIIT, he has developed a strong reputation for excellence in Information Technology, Management, and Administration.

In his current role, Hemantha oversees operational management, strategic planning, and a broad range of administrative functions. His expertise in process re-engineering, financial stewardship, and resource management has not only optimized administrative processes but also significantly contributed to the faculty’s growth and efficiency. His efforts in streamlining operations and supporting both staff of the faculty and student needs have cemented his reputation as an instrumental figure in fostering institutional excellence.

Hemantha’s career at SLIIT spans diverse domains, including software development, general administration, and faculty-specific management. His deep commitment to academic and operational excellence ensures that the Faculty of Computing remains aligned with the university’s mission and long-term strategic goals. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colombo and a master’s degree in information technology and management from the University of Kelaniya, credentials that underscore his robust academic foundation and his dedication to continual professional growth.

Kenneth Fleming is a distinguished working education professional with extensive expertise in international education and transnational higher education (TNE). With postgraduate qualifications from the University of Leicester and Northumbria University in England, he gained invaluable experience as both an international student and a working professional in the UK. This global perspective laid the foundation for his impactful career in Sri Lanka, where he has been a driving force in the education sector since 2012, specializing in international student recruitment and TNE operations.

In 2015, Kenneth was appointed to lead the newly established TNE unit at SLIIT, where he managed collaborations with prestigious global institutions, including Curtin University (Australia), Sheffield Hallam University (UK), and Liverpool John Moores University (UK) managing a portfolio of over 12+ foreign degree program completion pathways in Sri Lanka.

Nathasha Ranatunge is a dedicated legal professional with a wide-ranging experience in corporate legal affairs and compliance. In her current role as Senior Manager – Legal & Corporate Affairs at SLIIT, she is responsible for overseeing legal and governance matters, ensuring that regulatory standards are met and that the organization operates efficiently within a dynamic business environment. Nathasha has over a decade of experience in the banking sector, where she managed a range of legal functions including conveyancing, structuring financial agreements, reviewing commercial contracts, and managing the legal dimensions of both lending operations and recovery processes.

Nathasha holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Master of Laws from the University of Colombo, in addition to her Attorney-at-Law qualification from Sri Lanka Law College. These qualifications highlight her solid academic background and her dedication to continuous professional growth. In addition, she has engaged in legal research at the Judges Institute and has served at the Legal Aid Commission and has also earned professional qualifications in Human Resource Management, further broadening her expertise. She has actively contributed to professional development as a trainer and resource person, conducting legal awareness programs. With a pragmatic approach to legal challenges and a focus on collaborative problem-solving, Nathasha provides reliable legal counsel and supports strategic decision-making within her organization.

Nathasha is a member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) and her experience in various legal domains, coupled with her steady commitment to high professional standards, positions her as a reliable advisor in corporate legal affairs. Her balanced and measured approach continues to contribute to the integrity and stability of the institutions she serves.

Chatushka Mayadunne is the Senior Manager of Digital Transformation and System Architect at SLIIT’s IT Department. With over 15 years of industry experience, including 9 years at SLIIT, she leads enterprise digitalization and IT innovation projects. Prior to joining SLIIT, she worked at Virtusa Pvt Ltd and 1Billion Technology Pvt Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer, delivering enterprise-level software solutions.

Chatushka holds a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology from SLIIT and an MSc in Enterprise Application Development from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. Her expertise includes system integration, enterprise development, and process reengineering. She is passionate about applying emerging technologies to streamline operations and drive institutional transformation.

Roshan Vishwajith is a seasoned IT professional with over 23 years of experience in the field, including 17 years dedicated to software development. He specializes in developing and managing software applications for both desktop and web platforms. He currently serves as the Senior Manager – IT at SLIIT.

His expertise is multifaceted, with a strong focus on end-to-end project management, software and solution implementation, systems design, and solution architecture. He has a proven track record of driving process improvements and leading teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. With a strategic approach to problem-solving, he consistently delivers innovative solutions that align with organizational goals and enhance operational efficiency.

Roshan holds an MSc in Enterprise Application Development (Merit) from Sheffield Hallam University, UK, BSc (Hons) in Information Technology from SLIIT and IT certification from University of Colombo. In addition to his academic qualifications, he has completed multiple professional certifications, including diplomas in software development, network administration, and hardware engineering, along with specialized training in Advanced web development and diploma in journalism.

His professional journey includes progressive roles at SLIIT, from Associate Software Engineer to Senior Software Tech Lead and currently in a senior managerial role in IT department.  He began his career as a Computer Hardware & Network Technician at Softpro Computer Systems and he worked as a Software Programmer at CS IT Services and served as an IT Lecturer at ESOFT Computer Studies. Roshan’s broad technical skill set, combined with his leadership experience and academic background, makes him a key contributor to IT innovation and strategic growth at SLIIT.

Chamini Weerakkody, Senior Manager in Professional Development Programs, has over 13 years of experience in the education sector. After completing her advanced-level studies in the commerce stream at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, she earned a BSc in Business Administration (Special Degree) from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in 2010 and went on to complete an MBA in Innovation Management at Coventry University in the United Kingdom in 2011.

Returning to Sri Lanka in 2013, she began her career at SLIIT as an Assistant Manager and has steadily advanced, aligning her creative and entrepreneurial aspirations with her professional interests through dedication and persistence. She is partly qualified in CIMA and IPM. Today, she leads the Professional Development Programs division at SLIIT, which delivers 90% of its content online and serves over 400 students monthly. Chamini considers herself fortunate to work in a transformative institution that continually presents new challenges and opportunities.

Jinesha Rupasinghe has built a distinguished career in the private higher education sector, contributing across academics, academic counseling, and academic administration. She holds a Master of Arts from Mahidol University, Thailand, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Her foundational education was at Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya and Maliyadeva Model School in Kurunegala.

With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Jinesha brings a wealth of expertise complemented by both local and international training relevant to her professional domains. She has a proven track record in academic administration, having successfully managed higher education programs affiliated with institutions in the USA, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Scotland, and Sri Lanka.

Ms. Uthpala Ranasinghe is Head – Student Recruitment and Enrollment Division and she oversees the overall operations of Student Recruitment  and Enrollment at SLIIT.

Ms. Uthpala Ranasinghe is a Chartered Manager accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) - UK and she is an experienced professional with a proven track record in esteemed organizations over the past 15 years. She has led and managed programmes and resource administration projects in the Asia-Pacific region, working at both local and international organizations.

Ms. Uthpala Ranasinghe joined SLIIT in 2021 as Manager – Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, where she was given comprehensive responsibility to manage operations of most diverse faculty of SLIIT covering faculty’s academic administration, examinations, procurement, finance, and human resources functions. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, she played a key role in coordinating faculty industry consultative boards, faculty events, managing academic schedules, supporting student services and academic affairs ensuring adherence to institutional policies and quality assurance standards at the faculty level. In 2025, she was appointed to lead the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Division, taking over its overall operational management function as Head of the Division.

She has held significant roles at the UNDP Asia Pacific Regional Center, UN International Organization for Migration, Plan International, as well as World University Service of Canada. She has also served at the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology prior to joining SLIIT.

Ms. Uthpala Ranasinghe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, a Master of Business Studies, and a Master of Business Administration. As a Chartered Manager, she serves as an Executive Committee Member to the Regional Director Board of Chartered Management Institute – UK - Sri Lanka. Ms. Uthpala Ranasinghe is also an active member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka.

Dr. Dhananjaya Bulathwatta is a qualified and experienced medical doctor with a strong background in clinical practice, occupational health, and institutional healthcare management. He currently serves as the Senior Medical Officer at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), where he is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care and promoting the health and well-being of students, academic staff, and employees. His role involves preventive healthcare, emergency response, health awareness programs, and the effective management of campus medical services.

Dr. Bulathwatta has gained diverse professional experience through service in both local and international healthcare environments, including work with diplomatic and private sector organizations. His career reflects a commitment to high standards of patient care, medical ethics, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery. With strong leadership, communication skills, and a people-centered approach, he plays a vital role in supporting a healthy academic community and fostering a safe, productive learning and working environment at SLIIT.

Pushpamala Perera is the Senior Librarian at SLIIT and a Chartered Librarian with over 35 years of experience in academic and special libraries. She has been a pivotal part of SLIIT’s academic services for more than two decades.

Pushpamala holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Geography Special) and a Master’s in Library & Information Science from the University of Colombo. She also earned a Diploma in Library and Information Science (DIPLIS) from the Sri Lanka Library Association and is an Associate Member of the SLLA.

Before joining SLIIT, she worked as a Librarian at the Geological Survey & Mines Bureau.

Kumudu Gurugaloda is a highly experienced Senior Manager – System and Infrastructure Service Division, specializing in IT infrastructure management, system administration, and enterprise technology solutions. With over 14 years of experience in the IT industry, he has played a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of total IT infrastructure and enterprise systems in SLIIT for supporting Academic Activities.

In his current role, Kumudu oversees systems and server Infrastructure, network operations, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT service management, ensuring seamless infrastructure performance and business continuity. He has a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance IT environments that support empowering teaching and learning platforms and organization's digital education and transformation goals.

Before joining SLIIT Kumudu held key positions in IT infrastructure management, systems consultant, senior systems engineering, and enterprise solutions development at Tokyo cement company Lanka PLC, Zillione Technologies (Pvt) Ltd and MATRIX in MAS Holdings , where he led large-scale infrastructure deployments and IT modernization projects.
He holds a B.Sc Hons Computer Systems and Networking in Computer filed and a M.Sc Telecommunication and Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University in United Kingdom and has earned multiple certifications in cloud computing, cybersecurity, IT service management, and enterprise infrastructure solutions.

Passionate about emerging technologies, automation, and IT governance, Kumudu Gurugalgoda continues to drive innovation and efficiency in system and infrastructure services, empowering digital education and ensuring organizations stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Buddini Perera is a seasoned finance professional with over 14 years of experience at SLIIT, where she currently serves as Senior Manager - Procurement and Finance. Her core responsibilities include procurement activities of institute and further Student payment verifications related to Semester and Enrollment payments of students.

She holds both a bachelor's and a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Colombo. She is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Sri Lanka and has completed the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from CIMA (UK), reflecting her commitment to continuous professional development. Buddini plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and financial stability within the Procurement and Finance Departments, contributing to SLIIT’s strategic and daily operations.

Amila Sandaruwan is the Maintenance Manager at SLIIT, bringing over 17 years of experience in design engineering and facilities management. A results-driven professional, he has built expertise in system design, maintenance operations, reliability optimization, and implementing cost-effective engineering solutions in industrial and commercial environments. He holds a BSc in Engineering with Honours from the University of Peradeniya and a Master of Engineering in Energy Technology from the University of Moratuwa. His academic foundation supports his in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, energy management, and maintenance optimization.

Amila has worked across various industries, excelling in preventive and corrective maintenance, asset management, and reliability-centered strategies. He has also led sustainability initiatives that reduced energy consumption and improved operational efficiency. His leadership experience includes managing cross-functional teams and implementing long-term maintenance strategies that enhance system reliability and minimize downtime. Additionally, he has overseen major upgrade and retrofitting projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution. A registered engineer with the Engineering Council Sri Lanka (ECSL), Amila is a Chartered Building Services Engineer and an active member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL). He also contributes as a freelance consultant, supporting various organizations with technical expertise.

Mr. Lakmal currently holds the position of Manager Administration - SLIIT Matara Center. Current portfolio spans general administration, student services & affairs, support services maintenance, regional branding / marketing, corporate strategy, public relations, customer service & relations and business continuity management of the center. He joined SLIIT in 2015 as the Manager Administration of Matara center, counts overall 18 years of multi-disciplinary experience in the telecommunication, advertising, and education industries, in the field of Sales, Marketing, Business Development and General Administration. He counts 15 years of sole experience in education industry alone under the different prestigious and esteemed educational bodies in Sri Lanka. During his career, he has driven such corporate entities towards success and gained extensive industry-related knowledge, experience, and trainings in different disciplines.

Mr. Lakmal is a professional administrator by his profession, holds BBA (Hons) Degree specializing in the field of Marketing and master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. He is a member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (MSLIM) and certified business accountant (CBA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Harshani Wahalathanthrige is a dedicated facilities management professional with over 12 years of experience, currently serving as Manager – Facilities at SLIIT Campus. She oversees the campus’s soft services, including housekeeping, landscaping, waste management, and other key support functions, ensuring a well-maintained and efficient learning environment.

She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Facilities Management from the University of Moratuwa (2010). Her academic credentials are further strengthened by two master’s degrees obtained in 2017: a Master of Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) and a Master of Project Management from the University of Moratuwa.

Harshani is an Associate Member of the Institute of Facilities Management in Sri Lanka (IFMSL) and an Associate Professional of the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka (GreenAPS). Her expertise includes vendor management, compliance, and sustainability initiatives, with a focus on cost-effective solutions and service excellence.

She is known for her hands-on approach and strong leadership skills, consistently delivering operational improvements that align with institutional goals.

Kushal Pamudya Sumanasekara currently serves as Manager in the Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor (Research and International) at SLIIT, where she oversees academic administration for international degree programs. With over 12 years of experience in the education sector, she has worked in both academic and marketing roles, with a strong focus on international collaborations and program delivery.

She completed her schooling at St. Joseph’s Girls’ School, Nugegoda, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Peradeniya. She also earned an MBA with a research thesis from the University of Colombo.

Kushal began her career as a trainee social media strategist before transitioning into the higher education sector. She has worked extensively with partner universities in the UK, Australia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. As an academic, she has contributed to curriculum development aligned with the requirements of affiliated universities. In academic administration, she has gained deep insight into the UK higher education sector and led a team committed to delivering high-quality assurance services to international students.
