This research project by the SLIIT Faculty of Engineering focuses on developing a specialized tool to conduct environmental life cycle assessments (LCA) of buildings. Funded by the National Research Council, Sri Lanka, the project aims to evaluate and minimize the environmental impact of buildings throughout their life span—from material sourcing to demolition. The tool will support sustainable construction practices by providing architects, engineers, and policymakers with data-driven insights for eco-friendly design and resource-efficient building solutions.
