Programme Structure

MPhil Programme is Rs. 600,000 plus tax. Application processing fees Rs. 2,000/= has to be paid in the beginning of the registrations for MPhil Programmes. Fees can be paid to the bank accounts of SLIIT at any branch.
All inclusive fee to cover lectures, tutorials, examinations, access to computer laboratory facilities and the library and is payable prior to the commencement of the programme.
The fee should be credited to Account No 1630552 of the Bank of Ceylon in favor of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, at the bank of Ceylon Colpetty branch located at first floor of BOC Merchant Tower building or at any branch of BOC. Or Sampath bank account number 003990000033 of the Sampath bank at any branch of Sampath bank. Course fees are subjected to change.
Our MPhil degrees are offered in both Computing and Engineering fields. These programmes have been developed while considering the latest industry trends and immerging technologies that’s currently being used in the industry. The shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by SLIIT. At the interview, the overall suitability of the applicant to follow MPhil programme is assessed.
The process include:

An applicant granted admission to the MPhil program shall register as MPhil Research Student (MRS) within a period of three months from the date stipulated by SLIIT.

A Student, upon passing a qualifying examination after one year from the date of registration as a MRS, may be allowed to register as a Candidate of the MPhil programme and to proceed with the programme.

The studentship of MPhil Research Student failing the qualifying examination twice will automatically be terminated.
Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

A master’s degree in computing, engineering, business, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.

A bachelor’s degree with honours (or equivalent) in a relevant field, with significant research experience and a demonstrated interest in research.
The program can be completed in 2–3 years (full-time or part-time), depending on the student’s research pace and project requirements.
