Swimming at SLIIT

Swimming at SLIIT is more than a sport—it’s a journey of self-growth, resilience, and community. Open to both men and women, the team trains competitively under expert coaches. While current practices cater to experienced swimmers, a beginner program is being considered to support newcomers eager to develop their skills. SLIIT has a Top-ranked non-state university swimming team with us.

No. All sports, including swimming, are completely free for SLIIT students.

Yes, basic safety and training guidelines will be explained during your first session by the Coach or Team Captain.

At present, training is offered only to competitive swimmers with prior experience. A beginner-friendly training program is being considered and may be launched soon.

From my very first international experience at the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games in Bahrain where I was honored to win three gold medals and one silver, my journey in para-swimming has been both challenging and rewarding.

I remain humbled by the support and encouragement from SLIIT, which drives me to push my limits. Earning a silver medal at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Para Games further reinforced my belief in myself and my hard work. I am deeply thankful for SLLIT for every opportunity to learn and improve, and I continue to strive for excellence in what I do.
