SLIIT Business School and the Faculty of Computing – SLIIT were featured in a special training program series held on 14 October 2024 for Career Guidance Officers from the Department of Manpower and Employment. Organized by the Future Lanka Research & Development Foundation, the program included an insightful session by Ms. Geethma Pathirana, a Lecturer at SLIIT Business School, titled “Navigating Global Career Opportunities.” Her presentation covered key topics such as the gig economy, essential skills for thriving in a rapidly evolving world, career opportunities in emerging industries, and how to effectively leverage LinkedIn to identify relevant skill sets and job opportunities in today’s workforce.
Mr. Nelum Chathuranga, Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Computing – SLIIT, delivered an equally engaging session on “Information Technology,” focusing on key IT concepts, emerging career paths, global career trends, and essential skills needed for success in the field.
