CSR Initiative in Organizing a Medical Campaign: Arogya

The CSR Project "Arogya"- Medical Campaign was successfully held at the Opatha Base Hospital, Galle on 01st October 2024. This project was organized by second-year, second-semester students of the SLIIT Business School as part of their ‘Leadership & Teamwork’ module to improve the well-being of the rural community in the Opatha area.

The project included key activities such as an eye clinic, donation of reading glasses, screening for non-communicable diseases, breast and oral cancer screening, and the donation of essential medical equipment. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with several prominent organizations, including the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, Panadura Lions Eye Hospital, and Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. By providing vital medical services and fostering these strategic partnerships, the students were able to make a lasting impact on the underserved community of Opatha, addressing critical healthcare needs in the region. Ms. Nirmani Dayapthirana and Ms. Oshani Vidarshika also represented the SBS staff at Project "Arogya," offering their valuable support and guidance throughout the initiative.
