Mr. Aruna Ishara Gamage is a Lecturer attached to the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computing. He joined SLIIT main body in December 1st, 2014 attached to Interactive Media Programme Conducted by the Department of Software Engineering, where he currently plays the role of responsibility as the Coordinator – Interactive Media Degree Programme. Starting his career at SLIIT, Mr. Ishara initially joined SLIIT Computing (Pvt) Ltd., established and operating at SLIIT Metro Campus - Kolpetty, which is a subsidiary of SLIIT. He joined as an IT Instructor in February 2009 and worked his way through to getting promoted as Assistant Lecturer and Lecturer positions.

Before his permanent academic career at SLIIT, Mr. Ishara joined SLIIT Professional Development Programme as a Temporary Graphics and Animation Instructor in 2007, where he developed and delivered the main content of the PDP Graphics and Multimedia Programme. Furthermore, Mr. Ishara was the lead curriculum content developer (2011) of the BSc (IT) – Specializing in Interactive Multimedia Technology degree programme conducted by SLIIT Computing (Pvt.) Ltd. and then he later extended his support for the curriculum development (2013) of the BSc (Hons) in IT: Field of Specialization: Interactive Media Degree Programme conducted by SLIIT.

In addition to being an IT Professional in the academic career, Mr. Ishara is a Professional Photographer, Design Conceptualist, Graphic Designer, Writer and a Translator. He is also a registered Artist at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation as a Voice Actor and a freelance professional as a Dubbing Artist in television media.
