Powerlifting at SLIIT

Powerlifting is an emerging sport at SLIIT that has been steadily attracting students who are passionate about strength training and fitness. Each year, the Sports Unit conducts workshops aimed at introducing the key lifts while teaching proper form, technique, and safety. These workshops provide an excellent platform for both beginners and intermediate lifters to grow in a supportive, well-guided environment.

For students who qualify to represent SLIIT in officially recognized powerlifting competitions, full support is offered, including access to resources, and competition readiness.

There are no specific qualifications required to join the SLIIT Powerlifting Team. All that’s needed is a genuine interest in strength sports and a willingness to train consistently.
