Since joining SLIIT, I’ve had the opportunity to compete in inter-university, national, and international Taekwondo competitions, earning medals in each. The support from SLIIT, including the Sports Council, lecturers, and coaches, has been invaluable. Though I’m based away from Malabe, my team ensures I receive the training I need. Balancing studies and Taekwondo is challenging, but my batchmates' encouragement has helped me succeed in both. Taekwondo has shaped me not only as an athlete but also in character—building resilience, discipline, and determination. I’m truly grateful for this journey and excited to reach greater heights.

Hello everyone, I’m Disara Abeywickrama from the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences. I began my degree program at SLIIT in 2019, right after my A/Ls, and I can confidently say this was the ideal place to begin my journey. The recognition I’ve received today isn’t
just for academic performance—SLIIT provided me with numerous opportunities to grow beyond the classroom. I was a proud member of the SLIIT Debating Team, the Rotaract Club Editorial Team, the Leo Club, and the English Literary Association. These experiences shaped my personality and prepared me for the corporate world. The confidence I carry today is largely thanks to what SLIIT gave me. I’m proud to be a SLIIT graduate and I highly recommend it as the perfect place to start your future and achieve your goals.
