SLIIT Tamil community proudly hosts the Thai Pongal celebration, honoring the traditional harvest festival with colour, culture, and joy. The event embraces Sri Lanka religious and cultural diversity, creating a space for unity, gratitude, and shared celebration among students of all backgrounds.

Cultural performances, traditional décor, and festive activities make the day vibrant and meaningful. The celebration encourages cross-cultural understanding while reflecting on the significance of thanksgiving and harmony. Thai Pongal at SLIIT is not only a cultural tradition but also a powerful reminder of the values of community, respect, and togetherness that enrich campus life.

All SLIIT students and staff are welcome to attend. The celebration is open to current students of all cultures and religions to encourage inclusivity and appreciation of Tamil heritage at SLIIT.
