CAREER SUMMARY
Professor Dush N. Jayakody currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Electronics & Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Sri Lanka. He is also the Vice Chair of the IEEE ComSoc (Sri Lanka Chapter) and chairs the Centre for Excellence in Informatics, Electronics & Transmission at SLIIT. His career includes notable leadership roles, such as serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies & Research at Sri Lanka Technological Campus from 2019 to 2023 and as the Director of Postgraduate, Research, and Impact at the same institution from 2021 to 2022. He has also held a professorship at the School of Computer Science & Robotics at the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia, from 2016 to 2022, and a professorial/research role at the Department of Engineering & Computer Science/Autonoma TechLab, Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, Portugal, from 2021 to 2023.
Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Jayakody has held several prestigious visiting and sabbatical positions across the globe. These include roles as a SPARC Professor at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India (2019-2022), and visiting professorships at the University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil (2019), and the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland (2019, 2022). He was also a Research Scientist at Texas A&M University in 2018 and undertook postdoctoral research at the University of Tartu, Estonia, and the University of Bergen, Norway, between 2014 and 2016. Earlier in his career, he had a research stay at the Center for Telecommunications Research at the University of Sydney, Australia, in 2015. His extensive international experience and leadership have significantly contributed to the fields of Wireless Communications.
