CAREER SUMMARY
Prof. Pradeep Kumara Wijesekara Abeygunawardhana is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Computer Systems Engineering, currently serving as a professor at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). With a robust educational background, he holds a Ph.D. in Robotics Engineering (2010) and an M.Sc. in Engineering (2006) from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (2003) from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
Prof. Abeygunawardhana’s professional journey encompasses a blend of academic and industry experiences. He is the Director of Technology Diffusion at the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka, and a professor at SLIIT. Previously, he was the Head of the Computer Systems Engineering Department at SLIIT and a Senior Lecturer, contributing significantly to the institution's academic and research output.
His research interests lie in robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), electronics, and artificial intelligence (AI). Prof. Abeygunawardhana has published extensively in high-impact journals and conferences, showcasing his work on intelligent systems and automation.
